Who uses Lotus Notes in the Boston area?

A global enterprise customer with offices in Boston asked me "who else uses Lotus Notes in the Boston area?" I'd like to respond with a list of organizations. I'm not asking for contact names. If you are aware of organizations in the Boston that are presently using Lotus Notes, please post a comment on the Notes on Productivity Blog.

eProductivity/GTD Meetup Update

Recently, we sent out an email offering to host an in person productivity meetup.  We were pleased with the wonderful response from eProductivity users around the world, including the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa, and India.

Many of you expressed an interest in attending a live meetup and several others generously offered the use of their company offices to host the meetup.  At the same time, we heard from many users who said that they were very interested in such a meetup, but could not get the time away from work to travel or attend an event.

In response to this feedback, our current thinking is to explore the idea of doing one or more online events or webinars.  This way, people can attend virtually and at their convenience.

For those cities where we had a larger interest and people willing to host an event, we will contact you directly to see what we can work out.

All further details will be posted to the blog.

Meanwhile, thanks for the response! Another customer story from the customer service inbox:

We recently sent out an invitation to our customers inviting  them to join us in Boston for an in person eProductivity meetup with Eric Mack (the founder of eProductivity).  These meetups are great ways for people to come together and share tips and best practices for getting things done with Lotus Notes and eProductivity.

In one of the responses, we heard back from a customer in China who has been hosting her own productivity meetups:
eProductivity Meetup in China
I am now also hosting Time management in-person meetup in Shenzhen (a city in south China near Hong Kong) regularly. The frequency is once every two months. In coming September, we will have our 7th meeting. We share tips and best practices on time management, GTD, email efficiency, meet efficiency etc. People attending have increased from 10 people of 1st meeting to more than 50 people of the 6th meeting. On the 4th meeting in March 2012, I delivered a presentation about my experience of using eProductivity.  Here is a happy photo of the attendees.

Jun Zhou

Someday, we hope to return to Asia to meet the growing number of eProductivity users. For now, we are delighted to  receive and share this story from Jun Zhou.

If YOU have a story about your experience getting things done with eProductivity, we'd like to hear from you. If you're willing to allow us to share it on our blog/web site, please include that in your email. Many eProductivity users have told us that they have participated in eProductivity/GTD meetups.  What's a meetup, you ask? It's a an informal event where enthusiasts gather to talk, swap tips and tricks, and learn more about a topic they are passionate about.

In the case of eProductivity or GTD meetups, these events are often initiated by end users. Some are private - hosted in house - but most are open to everyone.  Eric Mack, our founder and the creator of eProductivity has participated in several eProductivity and GTD meetups around the country, including at IBM's annual Lotusphere conference in Orlando.

Are you in or near Boston?

We are considering arranging a meetup in Boston in early October and we'd like to know if you are interested and would attend. We are waiting for a host and will share the details once we know more.

Are you somewhere else in the world?

We'd love to hear from you; perhaps we can help facilitate getting Lotus Notes users together in your area.

Your Next Action
is to let us know of your interest. Be sure to tell us if you will be in or near Boston in early October as that will be the first event.
